The doors of Nairobi are opened wide to welcome this year’s 10th AFLAR congress. We are grateful to all who are taking part in what AFLAR and ARSK do in order to spark scientific and clinical progress in the field of rheumatology. We welcome all health professionals, patient support groups, industry representatives to form a unique platform to discuss aspects of rheumatic diseases with improvement opportunities. Emerging topics in rheumatology in Africa this year include the use of biologics, new diagnostic guidelines amongst other interesting topics. The congress will be a CPD accredited activity. The chosen venue will offer ample spaces for all participants to follow the sessions, network with fellow health professionals and patients. It will also accommodate our industry partners to exhibit and network with health care professionals.
I believe that it will be an excellent meeting, not only in development of rheumatology in Africa, but also in establishing friendships and collaborations. The above highlights have been made possible by the untiring effort and support of AFLAR, ARSK members, relevant committees and sponsors. I wish you all an enjoyable time in Nairobi, and look forward to interacting with you during the congress.
